Philosophy at Arizona

The study of philosophy is central to the mission of the University of Arizona. Through an excellent undergraduate major and an internationally distinguished graduate program, the Philosophy Department offers students opportunities to think deeply and analytically about questions fundamental to the place of the person in the natural and social world. As one of the nation's premier centers for original philosophical research, the Department is the academic home to a highly dynamic and engaged group of students in daily interaction with a world-renowned faculty.

The Philosophy Department is also home to the Center for the Philosophy of Freedom, under the directorship of David Schmidtz, Kendrick Professor of Philosophy.
