- What is the point of the Mandatory Freshman Academic Information Meeting?
During the spring semester, January and February, freshmen must attend a workshop concerning
career planning and building a co-curricular transcript. This transcript would include transferable
job skills the student has acquired, internships, co-operative education, part-time jobs, or
volunteer activities that enhance the student's ability to find employment upon graduation.
As some experiences, such as internships and co-ops are competitive and have deadlines for
application, it is important that students pre-plan these activities into their four year
schedule. Failure to attend a Career Planning Meeting will result in the student being blocked
from registering for the following summer or fall semester. (FYC)
