Phoenix Summer Social: Susan Briante

Join English Professor and poet Susan Briante at Co+Hoots for a summer social. Briante will read from The Market Wonders, an innovative project inspired by the Dow Jones Industrial Average. Although The Market Wonders is rooted in daily stock fluctuations, the mathematics at play are broader than financial markets alone. The poems invoke theoretical physics, physiology and the function of art itself. Briante’s book is a personal and cultural accounting of, in her own words, “the tightening fabric of complicity and interdependence woven by globalization.”

This event is free and open to the public. Light snacks will be provided.
