The 45th Annual Tucson Meet Yourself Folklife Festival features over 50 food booths, amazing performers, folk artists, exhibits, and activities for all ages.
Tucson Meet Yourself Folklife Festival 2018 Highlights include:
Guest Performers LIL NATHAN, master of the single note and triple row accordion bringing Zydeco from New Orleans; MONO BLANCO, bringing traditional “Son Jarocho” music from Veracruz, Mexico; and Tucson’s own GABRIELA AYALA, master classical guitarists of the Pascua Yaqui tribe.
CULTURE KITCHEN & FOOD JUSTICE EXPO featuring demonstrations of food traditions and the passing of culinary heritage and information sharing from organizations representing southern Arizona’s food system. A partnership of TMY, Tucson City of Gastronomy, and Creative Tucson.
LOFT CINEMA's Festival Films on Friday & Saturday nights of the festival. Films include Rumble: The Indians who Rocked the World, Taste Bud Memories, and others.
TMY AFTER HOURS on Sunday evening. “Taconazo,” featuring live performances of traditional Flamenco and Son Jarocho, traditions that both reflect the rhythmic and vibrant art of zapateado, or the tapping of tacones, heels. At EXO, 403 N 6th Ave, $10.
