Lucy is currently a junior triple majoring in Political Science, Global Studies, and French. She was born in Guadalajara, Mexico, but her family moved to Tucson when she was 5 years old. She is very connected to her Mexican family and town, but Tucson feels like home! From a young age, Lucy has had a passion for human rights and enhancing her cross-cultural awareness, spending summers in different countries for service projects, language camps, and volunteer work. At UA, she studied abroad in Paris during her sophomore year, worked for a summer with a local organization, Colibrí Center for Human Rights, focusing on migrant rights, and in Washington, DC with a nonprofit focusing on civil legal aid. Most recently, she's become involved with UA global as a Study Abroad Peer Advisor and as a Research Fellow in a project involving concentration camp systems. She wishes to continue to develop herself through her studies and global experiences in order to best contribute a positive influence in our communities.
