2025 Winter Convocation for Graduating Seniors

Congratulations, graduating seniors! You and your guests are invited to the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences 2025 Winter Undergraduate Convocation. This ceremony is an opportunity to celebrate your accomplishments with your classmates, family, and friends and includes a procession where you will be individually recognized.


Saturday, December 20th, 2025, at 2:00 PM (AZ time) at Centennial Hall, University of Arizona Campus

Graduates must register by December 6.

Graduates

  • Registration is now open! You must register by Saturday, December 6th at 11:59 PM.
  • You, as a graduate, will need a digital ticket to enter the SBS Convocation Ceremony. Please log in to Centennial Ticketmaster ticketing system to obtain your digital ticket prior to the ceremony. You can review additional instructions.
  • Each graduate is allotted up to 6 tickets so that family members and guests may attend the ceremony. If you need more than 6 tickets, please indicate that when you register with SBS. We will let you know after registration closes if extra tickets are available.
  • Please send the ticketing link to your guests so they can secure tickets for themselves and their party.
  • On December 20, check-in opens at 1:00 PM on the east side door of Centennial Hall. You must be check-in by 1:45pm to be seated before the ceremony begins.
  • Graduating students must wear their caps and gowns to participate in the ceremony. Caps, gowns, and tassels are available for purchase at UA Campus Store.

Guests

  • The event is free, but tickets are required to enter the hall. If you are one of your graduate's six guests, here is Centennial's ticketing link for the SBS ceremony. Here is additional information.
  • The ceremony begins at 2:00 PM (usually lasts about 1-1.5 hours). Doors open at 1:00 PM, and it is open seating.

Photography

Professional photography from the ceremony will be available to purchase through GradImages, who will email you after the ceremony.

The ceremony is Centennial Hall, 1020 E University Blvd. Go to the Centennial Hall website to review it security policy and what items you can bring into the facility.

REGISTRATION/GUEST TICKETS

Registration is now open. Immediately after submitting your RSVP, you will receive a confirmation message. You must register by Saturday, December 6. You must also need a digital ticket to enter the SBS Convocation Ceremony. Please log in to Centennial Ticketmaster ticketing system to obtain your digital ticket prior to the ceremony. Yes! We will celebrate you by reading your name during Convocation.

We hold a graduate student convocation in the spring. 

The University of Arizona hosts a Commencement ceremony during the spring semester only. Students graduating in winter 2025 may participate in the spring 2025 ceremony if they choose. Visit the Commencement web page for details.

Tickets are free, and each guest will need a ticket to enter Centennial Hall. Each student is allowed up to 6 guest tickets. Please send the ticketing link to your guests so they can secure tickets for themselves and their party. Here is additional information.

If you want more than 6 tickets, you can request them when you register. Additional ticket requests will be placed on a waiting list, and we will distribute as many extra tickets as we can after registration closes on December 5th.

CONVOCATION EVENT

Please arrive by 1:00 PM on Dec. 20, one hour before the ceremony begins at 2:00pm. You must check-in at the tables located on the east side of Centennial by 1:45 PM to be seated before the ceremony begins. You will receive a name card, which will be read as you are recognized on stage

Graduating students must wear their caps and gowns to participate in the ceremony; however, you will need to wait to put on your regalia until after you are through security. Graduating students with a disability and/or using a mobility device such as a wheelchair or walker can go through security without removing their graduation gown. Caps, gowns, and tassels are available for purchase at the U of A Campus Store. On the UA Campus Store website, under the Graduation tab (top of the page) you can select bachelor’s regalia.

On average, the College of SBS recognizes around 200 students on stage during the winter convocation. The ceremony usually runs betweem 1-1.5 hours.  Students and guests are expected to stay for the duration of the ceremony to fully honor every graduate.

Convocation will be open seating. You can sit wherever you wish as long as you are in the student seating area, which will be clearly marked.

The doors to Centennial Hall will open at 1:00 pm. The ceremony begins at 2:00 pm. Guest seating is open seating, but your guests do require a ticket to enter.

The nearest parking to Centennial Hall is in the Tyndall Garage or Main Gate Garage. Visit the UA Campus Map for locations and rates.

Bags larger than 12” x 6” x 12” are not permitted. Anyone entering premises is subject to a search of personal belongings, including but not limited to inspection of bags, purses, strollers, coats, hats, and wheelchairs. Balloons, signs, banners, or flags are not permitted. 

Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection, including but not limited to oxygen tanks, diabetes kits, allergy pens, etc. Centennial Hall will not safeguard any personal belongings or items of any type.

  • Accessibility parking: Tyndall Garage is the closest accessible parking to Centennial Hall. Other accessible parking areas are available during the evening and weekend. A drop-off area is available in front of Centennial on University Blvd.   Please visit Campus map for accessible parking to see all parking options.
  • Captioning: Real time captioning will be provided for this event.
  • Seating: Accessible seating for ceremonies is general admission without seat reservations, please plan to arrive early for best seating options.
