The Future of Food and Social Justice: A Youth Storytelling Project

In 2022, the Center for Regional Food Studies launched the groundbreaking Future of Food and Social Justice: A Youth Storytelling Project (FFSJ), aimed at amplifying the voices of Tucson's young generation in the discourse on food, culture, and social equity. 

Through various storytelling mediums — from podcasts to poetry — interns and students delved into topics spanning Indigenous food sovereignty to defining food justice. Led by a diverse steering committee of faculty and food-focused practitioners, the project provides mentorship and workshops for interns from varied backgrounds. After months of collaboration, the inspiring narratives from this cohort are showcased in this digital compilation and report on the work.
