Rachael Ronald
Rachael Ronald, Ph.D., serves as Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs & Student Success in the College of Social & Behavioral Sciences. Rachael and her team work on programs, projects, and initiatives that touch each stage of the undergraduate student life cycle. This includes orientation, persistence and retention, student engagement, career development, and graduation. More specifically, this means helping students to find their academic home with one (or two!) of the many majors and minors offered in SBS, equipping them with the support and resources needed to continue progress towards their degree, providing meaningful opportunities to build skills and experiences both in and outside of the classroom that will help them in their future careers, and celebrating their many achievements at graduation.
Rachael is a proud graduate of the University of Arizona where she earned her Ph.D. in History and studied the emergence of the popular Gallo beer in Guatemala. Rachael has worked in SBS for over a decade and previously worked at the Uof A’s Honors College as an Academic Advisor.
Outside of work Rachael volunteers as the Chapter Advisor for the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. She loves feeding her family and takes cooking very seriously. She is often found meal planning, prepping, and perusing farmers markets and other local spots for the inspiration and ingredients that can only be found in Tucson.
