Permissions

Wondering who has access to do what on our SBS departmental and center websites? Learn more about our roles and permissions. If you need to add a new editor to the site, please submit a request through TicketDog.

Content editor

Content editors should have ongoing responsibility to keep content up-to-date and receive training in using Drupal and best practices for the web. Typically a unit will have one or more designated content editors for particular areas of the site.

Content editors can:

  • Edit pages
  • Add new content (but not add to menus)
  • Add inline images
  • Upload PDF and other documents
  • Delete your own files (images, PDF files)

Webmaster

Departments typically have one designated webmaster who has increased permissions in Drupal.

Webmasters can:

  • Edit pages
  • Add new content
  • Add pages to main menu
  • Add inline images
  • Upload PDF and other documents
  • Delete pages (although this is not recommended)
  • Unpublish pages
  • Edit taxonomy terms
  • Delete files (images, PDF files)

Administrators

Website administrators are staff in SBS Tech and SBS Marketing who have access to the back end of your Drupal website.

Administrators can:

  • Re-order/change main menu navigation
  • Add new editors to the site
  • Help develop new areas of content or functionality
  • Troubleshoot website problems

You can submit a request through Ticket Dog for these and other administrator issues.
