Brooke Turner

Major in Anthropology (Emphasis in Human Biology)
Thematic Minor in Pre-Med
TestPerson

Brooke is a senior majoring in Anthropology with a Human Biology emphasis and a thematic minor in pre-medicine. Over the past four summers, she has shadowed a variety of medical professionals, all related to sports medicine. Her professional experience includes work in childcare and professional baseball, and in her free time she enjoys playing volleyball, cooking and baking, catching up on TV shows, and reading. While her ultimate goal is to attend medical school, Brooke was excited to discover a major that seamlessly combines many of her interests, including language and culture, travel, human connection, and medicine. As an SBS Ambassador, she hopes to encourage students to take advantage of the many opportunities offered by the University of Arizona to support their academic goals and spark curiosity in their learning. Brooke entered the University of Arizona Franke Honors College after graduating high school with an Associate of Science degree from her local community college and is eager to support students who have taken a less “traditional” path to college. During her freshman year, she studied abroad in Rome, Italy for the fall semester before beginning classes on the Tucson campus in the spring. This experience deepened her appreciation for global interconnectedness and highlighted the importance of empathy and cultural understanding -- values she plans to prioritize in her future medical career.
