Sofie Kassem
Sofie Kassem is a sophomore majoring in Law with a minor in Middle Eastern & North African Studies. She was drawn to the law major because of her strong interests in politics, international affairs, writing, and political commentary. She chose to minor in Middle Eastern Studies because of her Egyptian heritage and her desire to better understand the history, politics, and cultures of the region on a deeper level. She also completed a summer internship with TYT, which further strengthened her interest in media, public discourse, and current events. Driven by her passion for thoughtful discussion, Sofie founded the Wildcat Political Review, a student club dedicated to analyzing political issues and major events shaping the world today. Outside the classroom, Sofie enjoys being active on campus and building connections with other students. She is involved in the Arab Students Association and Kappa Alpha Pi, a pre-law and government fraternity. She wanted to become an SBS Ambassador because she understands how overwhelming college can feel at times and wants to help students find their place within the college while offering reassurance, guidance, and support. A fun fact about Sofie is that she loves music and has performed the National Anthem at University of Arizona athletics events. One of her long-term professional goals is to attend law school and pursue a career in diplomacy, with the hope of working overseas.
