On Campus Graphic Design Internship

The University of Arizona Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health is looking for Spring 2020 interns (with the option to extend through Summer 2020).

Internship Organization and Project Background

The University of Arizona Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health (MEZCOPH) is looking for intern assistance with a special project in partnership with the Pima County Health Department. Pima County Health Department and MEZCOPH are formalizing a long-standing set of relationships by establishing an Academic Health Department (AHD). The AHD will connect public health academia and practice to improve public health.

Internship Project Title

Communicating Public Health Research Through Infographics

Spring 2020 (With potential to extend to Summer 2020)

Internship Duties

A key component of the AHD is to provide monthly opportunities for MEZCOPH faculty and health department staff to present on current public health project and research, emphasizing the iterative cycle where research translates to practice and practice informs research.

Interns will gain firsthand experience working with MEZCOPH faculty and health department staff to summarize research expertise into one-page infographics in preparation for the monthly speaker series at Pima County Health Department. The intern will work in collaboration with faculty, health department staff, and the MEZCOH Community Engagement and Outreach Coordinator.

The student will be expected to meet with faculty and the Community Engagement and Outreach Coordinator on campus and at local health departments and will have the option to work remotely when appropriate.
