Alumni of the Year

Carol Dorsey '75 has demonstrated unwavering support for education and community service. From her involvement in regional politics and advocacy for educational initiatives to her philanthropic efforts supporting literacy projects and humanitarian causes, Carol's lifelong commitment to advancing human knowledge and improving lives embodies the spirit of the award.

Kathryn Bertine, who earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing from the University of Arizona in 2000, is an author, filmmaker, athlete, CEO, and champion for gender equity in sports through her Tucson-based Homestretch Foundation.

Regina Romero ’01 is the first woman and only Latina mayor of Tucson, and the only Latina mayor among the 50 largest U.S. cities.
