Olivia Gard
Olivia Gard serves as the president for the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences Ambassadors Program, where she assists with recruitment efforts for over 30 academic programs. She is a student leader at the University of Arizona’s W.A. Franke Honors College, where she is pursuing dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and Law with a minor in Human Rights Practice. She is also as a W.A. Franke Honors Civic Leadership Scholar and recipient of multiple academic distinctions.
Olivia’s professional experience spans legal, policy, and community engagement roles. She has been a Legal Intern with the Pima County Attorney’s Office, a Judicial Extern for the Pima County Superior Court, and a Civil Rights Restoration Clinic Student Intern at the James E. Rogers College of Law. Her work has focused on supporting investigative operations, preparing legal documents, and advocating for the restoration of civil rights in accordance with Arizona law.
Internationally, Olivia has contributed to public policy research with the European Large Families Confederation in Barcelona, drafting reports for the United Nations and analyzing the impact of European policies on family well-being. Her previous role as a Student Intern with the University of Arizona’s Confluence Center for Creative Inquiry has deepened her understanding of cross-border migration and access to the arts in Tucson.
On campus, Olivia is involved in several student-based organizations. She is a team captain and active competitor in the Arizona Mock Trial Program, involved in the W.A. Franke Honors College Leadership and Mentorship program, and a member several pre-law professional groups. Passionate about civic engagement and social justice, Olivia aims to pursue a career at the intersection of law, human rights, and public policy. She will be graduating this upcoming spring and moving on to attend law school next fall!
